Chloe Caday is a painter based in Wadawurrung, Victoria. Drawing inspiration from her Filipino heritage, Caday explores her historical, cultural and spiritual connections to place and dedicates her knowledge and experiences to reshape the preconceived Western ideology of life in the islands. Caday's practice is a direct response to her experiences and memories of both Australian and Philippines landscapes. Finding solace within her home in the bush, each intuitive and organic motion of the brush is a direct response to her environment – exploring the intricate and rhythmic interplay of sound, light and form. Her use of gestural mark making is a central technique to her practice - acknowledging the ability of the landscape to hold forgotten histories and stories.

Caday is a 2017 Fine Arts graduate from RMIT University in Melbourne. She was born in Quezon City – a highly urbanised city northeast of Philippines’ capital city, and now resides in the Victorian bushland with her family, where she works out in the land surrounding her home.
